THIS IS AN EJ255JBAME ENGINE

This particular EJ255 Engine was destined for the VERY latest Subaru 2010/2011 Legacy GT.

It is a Turbo DOHC engine ... 265 BHP.

It is twin AVCS heads with AVCS on both inlet and exhaust making it SUBARU'S best engine to date.

Note:- These engines get the oil feed for the turbo from the AVCS oil pipes.

Oil pressure controls the AVCS from a sensor.


QUOTE: -AVCS is a system that works with the cams (usually only on the intake side where the most benefits are shown) to adjust the duration of the intake valve opening, closing, and rates of change depending on what the computer determines according to sensor input. The AVCS system is actuated through oil pressure from the engine, which is sent through a computer controlled valve and then directs oil into an AVCS actuator to advance or retard cam timing in respect to the cam sprocket.

The best thing about the system is that, the same heads can be used with or without AVCS activated. It's just an auxiliary system in essence.

On this latest Spec EJ255 you will note that the Turbo Charger is actually fitted underneath the engine near to the front ... NOT in the usual position that you find on an older EJ engine.
